San Diego is home to a number of prominent life sciences companies, including: Illumina, Hologic, Thermo-Fisher, Synthetic Genomics, Arena Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly, Celgene, Genomatica, Halozyme and Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
